The Sunbury & Shepperton Arts Association (SSAA) aims to enrich and stimulate the cultural life of the local community by organising distinctive, varied and adventurous events in the fields of the performing arts, fine arts, literature and craft.
In 1967 the Sunbury Arts Association was formed as an umbrella to cover Sunbury-based artistic groups (the Sunbury Art Group, Manor Players, Sunbury Operatic, and the Sunbury Poetry Group). One of the Association’s first achievements was a Festival of the Arts in the spring of 1968. When Shepperton Players joined soon afterwards the name changed to the Sunbury and Shepperton Arts Association.
